Garrett at macetech is a true friend. A buddy came to him and said, “I need a fiberoptic mohawk on my viking helmet. One that lights up, and is sound reactive, and I need it A.S.A.P.”, Garrett did what any good friend would do and said “OK”. Luckily, his friend provided the helmet.
He sourced the bulk of the electronics from sparkfun, using his own octobrite LED strips for the lighting. The fiber optics were found online in the form of those fiber optic wands. He just had to pull the bunch of fibers out of the handle and mount them. For more information, check out his build log. He supplies massive amounts of pictures of the entire project.
